I recently had the opportunity to review a gorgeous coffee table book entitled “One Hundred Butterflies” by: Harold Feinstein. It features original poetry, quotes and descriptive details about butterflies.
I love the writing style and creative speech. Most table books are simply glossed over or only studied for the photography, but Mr. Feinstein’s writing style captures your attention, engaging you to keep reading.
An excerpt:
A CATERPILLAR found on the oak trees cuts off thin strips of bark, which it builds into two compact blades; these it so arranges as to form a hollow cone, or boat-shaped shell, in which it becomes a pupa. It is at once architect, cabinet maker, and weaver…
Along with the wonderful text, the photography in this book is breathtakingly beautiful! Harold has captured the finest details in every photo. From the golden hue of the Ruddy Daggerwing to the feathered wings of the Sunset Moth, “One Hundred Butterflies” was a pleasant surprise. I’m in love!!! This is certainly a book that I enjoyed reading. My children loved the photo’s and it will remain on my coffee table for all my visitors to enjoy. Thank you for this review opportunity!
